Introduction to Video Art VISA 2056 with Instructor Niknaz Tavakolian
The premise of the project was to create a 5 minute video about our personal environment. I live in the heart of Rexdale, known as one of the most notorious places across GTA. Although I wouldn’t say it’s still true, I do remember the times when gang fights and street shootings were very common. But no matter how unsafe it sounds, Rexdale is still my home. “Sanctuary” is meant to illustrate how I managed to survive here all these years. Of course, with God’s protection, but also in focusing on the beautiful things amidst the dangers.
And yes, that goose hissed and semi-attacked me. Anything for a good footage.
